Be sure to read all the rules under the blog post "The Challenge". Then check out the team rosters to see how many players your team has. If they have 20 you will be put on the waitlist in case someone doesn't accept the challenge or is dropped for posting 0 miles. Or you can join another team.
The roster is at http://runnerbowl07.blogspot.com/2007/07/team-rosters-by-nike-id_451.html

NIKE ID... IMPORTANT!!!
Hey all!
If you have not received a preseason invite yet it may be because the Nike ID you gave me is incorrect or not getting the invite for some reason.
Please either comment here or PM me in the forum and let me know the ID you signed up with AND your email address that is registered with Nike+ so I can add you to the preseason.
Thanks and great job so far to everyone who has put up some mileage in the preseason!

***Questions from Forum Thread*** 8/5/07
Below is a post by brianmack in the Runnerbowl thread and my response...
(POST: August 5th, 2007)
mawz,
I'm a little unclear about something. Is this going to be a public or private challenge? I would imagine the only way to run something like this is to do a private challenge, but managing that many individual challenges would be a pain in the (rear).
Also, will you be sending out all pre-season and regular season challenges all at the same time, or will you issue them weekly? My vote is for all at the same time in case people forget to check their challenges 3 months from now.
Thanks for putting this together.
Brian

Hey Brian,
Those are good questions. I have set up a public invite for sign-ups only. Once a person joins, they post their team in trashtalk and then I add them to their team's list and remove them from the public invite.
But basically this is a private challenge. It probably will be a pain in the rear... but I love football and a challenge so I'm up for it. Besides, it motivates me to keep running.
Preseason has been issued and consists consists of two separate challenges -- one for AFC teams and one for NFC teams -- each lasting 28 days (August 6th to Sept. 2nd).
When regular season starts I plan to issue challenges 4 weeks at a time. So Wks 1-4, then Wks 5-8, then Wks 9-12, then Wks 13-17. Each weekly match-up will have it's own challenge and will be individual-run not team-run. This way it will be easier to see who's doing what distance and teammates can push each other. (If you forget who's on your team the rosters will always be posted on the blog). Whomever runs the most in each match-up will be that game's MVP and of course win a trophy. But the final scores and overall standings will be posted on the blog.
You had a concern about people not checking their challenges. Hopefully people will be active and engaged in this challenge. But we will see what happens. Most likely if someone doesn't accept the challenge for a week it won't matter because the final score is based on each team's average mileage, NOT total mileage. However, if a teammate accepts the challenge and posts no mileage... it WILL figure into the average (as 0 miles) for the final score. So we may have some upsets!... and some upset runners... but football is a team effort and so is this challenge, so I want to see you guys pushing your teammates.
Hope that answered your questions... I will post this on the blog as well. I'm sure others were wondering some of these things as well.
Good luck to your Bears (although my Colts will whoop 'em every time!!!)

Preseason!!!
Who wants it more?
The votes are in... 74% of you wanted our preseason to last 4 weeks, so...
Welcome to Preseason!!! This is your chance to show the other teams in your conference exactly what you're made of.
Make sure to join the team that you've signed up for or else you will be dropped from the challenge.
The preseason challenge will last 28 days (from August 6th through September 2nd) and will be a most miles competition. This will be your opportunity to see who the top runners are and size up some of your competition, so be sure to check the leaderboard.
On September 3rd, I will post the preseason standings for each conference based on each team's average mileage.
******************
I will continue to take new runners throughout the season, but a team will never have more than 20 players on it's roster.
There are 17 weeks of regular season NFL games... I will create a separate challenge for every match-up each week. I will not be placing you in teams in regular season challenges, so it will benefit you to learn who your teammates are and to push one another to win, Win, WIN!!!!!
Keep in mind that the actual winner of each match-up will be determined by both team's average mileage, not by total miles. I will post the weekly standings both here and in the Nike+ forum.
